June 3, 2009 Comet Rail Products is expanding its service offerings into the locomotive market with the introduction of a draft gear reconditioning service. This is an AAR M-1003 certified QA program, all reconditioning is performed in accordance with EMD MI 2703 requirements. This service is applicable to draft gear models Type I-NC390 and Type V-NC391. The cost of this reconditioning service also includes new rubber pads, new bushings, and new alignment plungers, when necessary, we can also provide a rebuilt coupler.
