Comet Industries was founded in 1963 as Comet Electronics to service and install Kansas City Southern Railroad's microwave communications network. Still a main supplier to the KCS operation, today Comet Electronics is Comet Industries, an incorporation involving three companies-Comet Communications & Signal, Inc., Comet Rail Product, Inc. and Comet Industrial Products, Inc.

A highly experienced staff continually monitors the national railroad salvage market to meet the demand of the country's major (class 1) railroads and short-line railroads shopping the second-hand market.
